RECEIVING A FREIGHT SHIPMENT
Freight Shipment Delivery
Freight Shipping Guide
If you are waiting for a shipment to be delivered, contact your supplier and/or shipping company to find out the status of the freight shipment and the anticipated delivery date.
When your shipment arrives
- Immediately inspect the cargo for any possible signs of damage
- Compare the amount of items delivered and the number of items on the Bill of Lading
- Place your signature on the delivery receipt
- For all questions or concerns, contact N-Motion Freight @ 1-855-407-4160
Make sure to inspect that items being delivered very closely while the driver is on location. If the condition of the shipment is acceptable, sign the inspection report. You will receive a duplicate copy of the receipt and the original copy will be retained by the driver for record keeping purposes as proof of delivery.
When there is no damage or problem with the delivered shipment, it is labeled as a “clear delivery.” Clear deliveries are damage-free and shortage-free shipments.
An invoice for the shipment will then be sent to the paying party once the cargo is picked up or delivered (contingent upon payment method chosen.)
In hindsight, if there is an issue with the shipment, such as damage or shortages, the cargo should still be accepted. The loss will be mitigated between the shipper and the consignee. Once the shipment is in your possession, file a claim for the damages or shortages.
